En ce jour où le Cambodge fête le 64^e anniversaire de son indépendance, nous avons la joie de présenter notre nouveau logo qui est en fait notre premier logo.

En voici la signification :

D’abord nous pouvons lire l’inscription « Bibliothèque du Bonheur » en Khmer « បណ្ណាល័យសុភមង្គល » car c’est bien sûr la langue du Cambodge, que nos livres sont en Khmer, et que les utilisateurs de notre bibliothèque sont Cambodgiens ! Puis cette inscription est en Anglais « Library of Happiness » car cette langue est incontournable au Cambodge, que c’est la langue officielle de L’ASEAN « Association of South East Asian Nations » et que, à la demande des utilisateurs de notre bibliothèque, nous donnons des cours d’Anglais. On peut considérer que l’Anglais est indispensable dans le Cambodge d’aujourd’hui. Sur la gauche nous trouvons un livre ouvert, logique dans une bibliothèque, et sur la droite un drapeau cambodgien inséré dans la forme géographique du pays, nous ouvrant à un style de connaissance qui s’ajoute à ceux au centre du logo. En fait, le beau thème central est le logo du Foyer Saint Jean Baptiste que nous utilisons avec l’autorisation de son fondateur, le Père Bruno. Ce sont principalement les jeunes du foyer qui assurent l’animation de la bibliothèque. On y voit un semeur rependre des lettres Khmères, Latines, et même Grecques ainsi que divers chiffres. C’est une belle allégorie sur l’enseignement. Nous y avons rajouté deux éléments tout aussi importants que la culture et l’éducation, à savoir un « smiley » qui dit la joie simple et un cœur qui dit l’amour.

Les utilisateurs de notre bibliothèque sont Khmers et donc Bouddhistes comme la majorité des Cambodgiens, pourtant, notre logo autorise une seconde lecture, chrétienne celle-ci, au travers de trois, voire de quatre symboles… Saurez-vous les découvrir ?

Today, Cambodia celebrates the 64^th anniversary of its independence, and we are happy to present our new logo which is in fact our first logo. Here is its meaning:

 First, we can read the inscription "Library of Happiness" in Khmer "សុភមង្គល សុភមង្គល" because it is, of course, the language of Cambodia, that our books are in Khmer, and that the users of our library are Cambodians! English is the official language of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and, at the request of the users of our library, we teach English. English can be considered indispensable in today's Cambodia. On the left side, we find an open book, logical in a library, and on the right side a Cambodian flag inserted in the geographical shape of the country, opening us to a style of knowledge in addition to those in the center of the logo. In fact, the beautiful central theme is the logo of Saint John Baptist Center which we use with the authorization of its founder, Father Bruno. It is mainly the young people of the center who ensure the animation of the library. There is a character who sows Khmer, Latin, and even Greek letters, as well as various mathematical figures. It is a beautiful allegory on teaching ad education. We added two new elements, as important as culture and education, namely a "smiley" that tells about joy and a heart that tells about love.

 The users of our library are Khmer and therefore Buddhists like the majority of Cambodian people, yet our logo allows a second reading, Christian this one, through three or even four symbols ... Will you be able to find them?

 The two logos below have different flags, we preferred the one shown at the top of this post.
