Point sur la situation et projet d'avenir… / Update on the situation and plans for the future

J'ai présenté à notre partenaire MC 15 20, la situation actuelle de la bibliothèque ainsi qu'un petit projet pour l'an prochain.

Il s'agirait de louer une pièce plus grande, un commerce en fait, pour y installer la bibliothèque. Les deux pièces actuelles serviraient à héberger des jeunes étudiants principalement issus du Foyer Saint-Jean-Baptiste. Ces derniers bénéficieraient gratuitement de l'hébergement en s'engageant à ouvrir la bibliothèque tous les soirs du lundi au vendredi de 19H30 à 21H30 pour accueillir les jeunes de collège et lycée le temps qu'ils fassent leurs devoirs.

Nos étudiants pourraient aider les plus jeunes avec les maths, la physique, la Chimie, le Khmer ou encore la Biologie.

Cette idée vient du fait que les logements de 4m x 4m c’est-à-dire de 16 m² sont occupés par des familles élargies de 4, 5, 6 7 personnes et même parfois plus. Il est quasi impossible aux enfants de faire leurs devoirs dans cet environnement. Leur offrir un lieu pour cela serait un réel plus dans la vie de notre cité en général et de ces jeunes en particulier.

Mais tout cela a un cout, ce jour aura donc été une nouvelle petite pierre posée dans l'élaboration de ce beau projet qui répond à un besoin important de la population de notre cité du bonheur.

I presented the current situation of the library as well as a project for next year, to our partner MC 15 20.

The idea would be to rent a bigger room, a business in fact, to install the library. The present two rooms would be used to accommodate young students mainly from the Foyer Saint-Jean-Baptiste. They would benefit from the accommodation free of charge by committing themselves to open the library every night from 7.30 to 9.30 pm, Monday to Friday, to welcome the young people of secondary school and high school during the time they do their homework.

Our students could help the younger ones with math, physics, Chemistry, Khmer or Biology.

This idea comes from the fact that the 4m x 4m units, that is to say 16m2, are occupied by extended families of 4, 5, 6 , 7 persons and sometimes even more. It is almost impossible for children to do their homework in this environment. To offer them a place for this would be a real plus in the life of our housing estate in general and of these young people in particular.

But all this has a cost, this day will have been a new step in the development of this beautiful project that meets an important need of the population of our city of happiness.
